Single. Alone. Some may think that sounds like a terrible place to be. It is, when you are hurting, but once the hurt is gone it is an opportunity to be taken advantage of. Being in a long relationship takes over your life, it can be wonderful. But when it is over you are left with an emptiness. There is no longer that familiar person to comfort you anymore. It is a lonely, lonely feeling.
It takes a while to heal after a break up. I know, I spent months wallowing around after mine. During the time after a break up it is important to be careful and not rush into another relationship, a mistake I made was trying to find someone else to fill the empty place. Timing is everything. If you aren’t ready to invite someone new into your life, then it is probably not the right time. Jumping into new relationships before you are ready will only create more heart ache. When you are ready, you will know.
After months of staying cooped up in my room missing the past, I realized I was forgetting to live for the present and look forward to the future. Single is such a good place to be. Why? Because it is a clean slate, a beginning of a new journey, a new chapter. Instead of relying on someone else for happiness I can learn to enjoy life by doing things that I want to do. I am going to start a journey to find out who I am supposed to be. There are so many adventures to be had, why waste them by walking around in a slump. Take control of your time, and enjoy your time you have to yourself. Try the things that make you happy, being single gives you the perfect opportunity to do anything you like!
Start new adventures by saying “yes” when new ones present themselves!
