I hope all of you had a happy holiday with your families! I know I enjoyed going home for a few days. I left my computer behind, for a much welcomed break. Now I am back and eager to start planning my goals for 2016. Have you been thinking up any New Year’s Resolutions yet?

I have been thinking hard about how to narrow down my goal’s for the next year. Most of them revolve around the dream of becoming financially independent. I love to travel, explore new places and try new things, something that is hard to do when tied to one place because of a job. My dream is to create a source of income that allows me the flexibility and time to try new things and travel new places. A dream that would allow me to keep learning knew things, like how to milk a cow, and allow me time to nanny in England.
Every trek deserves a bit of planning, which brings me to my goals for 2016:
- Create multiple sources of income. Someday I would love to work from home. I know this is my “I wish to be a mommy” brain talking, but it makes sense. Why not create an online source of income before I have anyone else to take care of? That way I will have more time to focus on my family, when the time comes.
- Payoff $10,000 of my student loans. This will not be easy goal to achieve, especially since my current income is less that $1,000 a month. Paying off $10,000 in one year means at least $834 a month will go towards loans. However, paying of my loans quickly will free up more money for me to save and invest in the future.
Where am I going to start? By making the most of my mornings: focusing any extra time on my Teacher’s Pay Teacher’s shop, and learning more about the world of blogging.
My motivation this year is for my future family. I may not even be close to being married, and there are no glimpses of children on the horizon, but I everything I do now is to prepare for life with them. What is your dream for the future? What steps can you take today, or this year to make them come true?
