I am not much for going to the gym to work out, mostly because I feel awkward and I don’t like to be inside. With the exception of going to the climbing gym. That’s always fun! I do love to walk though, I could walk for hours. When I was in England last month we walked everywhere, so I wanted to keep up the habit when I got home (The only problem now is remembering which side to walk on!).
This week I am back in my hometown and have been going for walks to the lake and to the river (I love water). Usually I walk with out head phone’s and just listen to the world and try to clear my head. Going for walks has always been my way to relieve stress.
This week’s walks have been a bit different, and I have been plugged in. School is almost back in session and I have been making a lot of activities for my mom’s class. I also want to get back into blogging regularly. So this week to gain inspiration and motivation I have been listening to Elise Gets Crafty podcasts while on my walks. My friend Whitney suggested them to me, and so far I love them too! Listening to ‘real’ bloggers talk about their process makes me excited to create more projects and start writing more.
Walking around town creates inspiration of its own. This Friday I chatted with a mom and her two girls at the lake. They were all dressed up in their Seahawks gear, ready for the first preseason game, and the girls had a bag full of tortillas to feed to the ducks. The ducks which had been huddled together on the beach, avoiding the stormy weather that was rolling in, ran straight into the water eager to be fed.
On my way back from the lake, I came across a man giving away green beans. He had a truck load! They were donated and meant for the food bank, after going to several food banks there were still a ton left. He called me over and I filled up a bag full. When I got home I put them into the freezer. I filled 5 quart sized bags! Small towns are great. It is great to be home again.
