The countdown to graduation has begun!
I am starting my final spring quarter at SPU, and I am determined to make the most of it. I am truly looking forward to this quarter. This coming weekend I get to go to Blakely Island with my class to begin collecting plant specimens, and learn how to ID them. Blakely is one of my favorite places. It is a part of the San Juan Islands and SPU has a research field station located there. Last summer I spent 6 weeks there hiking around the island, canoeing, and beach combing (all for science of course). It was incredible!
Following my trip to Blakely, I will take off to Calgary for a week, where I will be presenting a research poster at a major conference. I am both extremely excited and nervous, as this will be my first time presenting research!
More things to look forward to this quarter:
- Doing the Color Run (for the 3rd time) with a few of my lovely roommates
- Continuing my research on deer, and presenting at another conference (this one will be at SPU)
- A freshwater biology class, which is only one weekend and it is on Blakely!
I want to enjoy the last of my college experience in the moment. That’s why I am choosing to switch of my Facebook, as well as cut out TV for this last quarter. By sending less time in front of the computer, hopefully I will have more time to spend on school and more importantly with friends.
Please follow my blog as I document these last exciting weeks! (:
